Lunch & Learn: An introduction to social investment

This introductory workshop is designed for charities, social enterprises, andmission-led organisations that are exploring social investment as a potential way to grow, scale, or strengthen their impact.

Social investment can be a powerful tool for organisations that are ready to take on repayable finance to support growth, innovation, or sustainability. However, itis not suitable for everyone. This session will help you understand what social investment is, how it works in practice, and whether it is the right fit for your organisation at its current stage.

We will explore the different types of social investment available, who provides it, and what investors are typically looking for. The workshop will also support you to think critically about timing, readiness, and the potential risks and benefits of taking on investment.

By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of how social investment works and what you would need to do to become “investment ready”.

This workshop is specific to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations. Staff, trustees and volunteers working at VCSE organisations in Wakefield District are welcomed to attend.

This workshop will be delivered by our friends at Participate Projects, experts in funding and enterprise for charities, social enterprises and community iniatives.
