Menopause at Work: Tools & Techniques for Managers

Employers are increasingly expected to show how they are supporting employees experiencing menopause at work. With new legislation and guidance to navigate, this workshop breaks down an essential part of being ‘menopause friendly’ – manager confidence.

This workshop will help managers understand menopause symptoms and feel confident supporting colleagues who may be experiencing them. We’ll cover:

  • Holding supportive, sensitive conversations
  • Recognising menopause symptoms
  • Understand the impact of menopause at work
  • Knowing the law and your duty of care
  • Implementing reasonable adjustments and practical support options

You’ll take away practical steps that reflect that your capacity and resources.

Why this matters

Menopause affects a significant proportion of the workforce – particularly in the VCSE and Health & Social Care sectors, where women make up 73% of the workforce.

Menopause symptoms affect some women’s confidence, concentration and overall wellbeing at work. However, only 46% feel able to disclose their symptoms at work due to fear of negative perception (British Menopause Society). With the right understanding and support, your organisation can retain experienced employees and build an inclusive culture where women feel supported to perform at their best.

This workshop is an opportunity to start conversations and show your support.

Who can attend

For line managers, supervisors and team leaders.

The workshop is fully-funded for employees of VCSE organisations and small health & social care organisations based in the Wakefield District.
