Social Prescribing Day Networking Celebration

Social Prescribing Day on 19 March is an annual celebration of the people, organisations and communities who make social prescribing happen – that includes you!

What is social prescribing? Some things that affect our health can’t be treated by doctors or medicine alone, so social prescribing connects people to activities, groups and support that improve their health and wellbeing. Many of these activities and services are run by fantastic local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE)organisations!

“Social prescribing is the glue that links VCSE organisations with people who need their help.”

You’re invited to this joint event from Nova and Live Well Wakefield. It’s a valuable opportunity to:

  • Build connections: network with people from local VCSE organisations, social prescribers from Live Well Wakefield, and reps from the 7 PCNs across the district (a PCN is a group of GP practices)
  • Get the word out about your work: discover ways to work together, strengthen or build referral pathways, and improve outcomes for the people you support
  •  Hear what’s going on locally: with talks from Live Well Wakefield about their work and an introduction to some newer VCSE organisations

This event is for anyone from a community group, charity or social enterprise who wants their services to reach more people and understand whereto direct people for the best support. You are invited to bring leaflets for a resource table.
