The Youth Association is seeking to appoint a qualified, committed, and enthusiastic Lead Youth Worker to join a highly motivated and successful team. This role requires a passionate individual with a strong background in youth work, capable of developing and delivering impactful programmes that engage and support young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver youth work programmes tailored to the needs of young people.
- Engage with young people through both centre-based and detached youth work.
- Provide support and guidance on mental health and well-being, ensuring young people have access to appropriate services.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and community organisations to enhance youth work provision.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth programmes, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports on youth work activities and outcomes.
- Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- A JNC-recognised youth work qualification at Level 3 or above.
- A minimum of three years’ industry experience in the youth work sector.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver youth work programmes.
- Experience of detached youth work and supporting young people’s mental health.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with young people and stakeholders.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Desirable Criteria
- Access to a vehicle and the ability to travel for work purposes.
- Experience of working within a community or charity setting.
- Knowledge of local services and support networks for young people.
