Inclusive Sports Festival: Day 2

"This event will be the largest disability sports event in the Wakefield District, offering invaluable opportunities for children, young people, and families who have a disability or long-term health condition, to explore various sporting taster sessions. We aim to introduce participants to a wide array of activities, fostering a sense of inclusion and empowerment within the community.

Activities include bowls, tennis, basketball, cycling, archery and more. We also have dedicated quiet sensory spaces and self-led activities to ensure everyone feels comfortable and accommodated throughout the event.

The festival serves as a platform for diverse organisations and providers to showcase their offerings in disability-inclusive sports and physical activities. We are proud to be part of this new network, striving to enhance the accessibility and quality of opportunities available to disabled residents in our district.

Together, we aim to make this event a regular feature in Wakefield’s event calendar, continually enhancing opportunities for all members of our community.

Your presence at this event would not only honour us but also underscore your commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within our society. By joining forces, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.

If you would like to attend the event with an activity, a stall or just as a guest please email Ed Montague Ed.Montague@yorkshiresport.org so that we can make appropriate arrangements."
