New Three Year Grants to Support Wakefield City Centre Communities

Grants of £10,000 to £25,000 per year are available through the Third Sector Framework, funding VCSE organisations that support communities with the highest deprivation and poorest health outcomes in Wakefield City Centre.

The Third Sector Framework are thrilled to invite applications from Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise organisations for multi-year grants aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities.

The Building Healthy and Sustainable Communities 3 Year Grants will support and develop community initiatives in areas where there are poorer healthcare outcomes. For this funding, the area is Wakefield City Centre including Portobello, Belle Vue and Agbrigg.

We encourage you to apply if your organisations is well positioned to deliver in this area and can support those most likely to experience health inequalities, such as:

  • Ethnic Minorities
  • People with a Learning Disability and Autistic People
  • People with Multiple Morbidities
  • People experiencing Homelessness
  • People with Drug & Alcohol Dependence
  • Vulnerable Migrants
  • Gypsy, Roma & Traveller Communities
  • People in Contact with the Justice System

What Can Be Funded?

Grants are for VCSE work that improves health and wellbeing; connects with communities; and reduces health inequalities for the specified communities. Here are some examples of what this can cover:

  • Resources to support, increase or extend existing work.
  • Supporting the development of volunteers.
  • Direct project delivery work.
  • Creating or developing posts to undertake the project/proposal.
  • Match-funding.

Reasonable contributions to core/running costs as part of the wider proposal costings will be considered.

Who Can Apply?

This funding is open to: registered charities, CIOs, CICs, Unincorporated Charitable Associations, and unregistered voluntary and community organisations with a not-for-profit constitution.

  • Closing date for Stage 1 Application: Wednesday 4 December at 5pm
  • Online information session: Wednesday 27 November, 2pm to 3pm
