The Youth Worker will support the delivery of youth work projects across a variety of settings, including street-based outreach,educational institutions, and community environments. Working alongside Lead Youth Workers, they will assist in delivering youth work sessions, sometimes leading sessions with the support of Youth Support Workers. The role also involves contributing to session planning and evaluation to ensure effective delivery.
Key responsibilities include working with young people in informal and formal settings across South and West Yorkshire, with the flexibility to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends. The Youth Worker will facilitate the involvement of young people in decision-making and ensure adherence to TYA’s policies and procedures.
The role requires collaboration with partner agencies and professionals, contributing to project reporting and monitoring, and engaging in regular supervision to maintain direction and motivation. The Youth Worker will also participate in training and personal development to enhance their skills.
Candidates must have front-line youth work experience and a JNC-recognised youth work qualification at Level 3 (or above). The ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding, is essential.
