Pride in Practice: Supporting and Safeguarding LGBTQIA+ Young People

Spectrum Health will be delivering this webinar on gender questioning.  

You will learn how best to support a child in the LGBTQIA+ community, Steph will dispel myths and work with practitioners to help them feel confident in assessing risk and other vulnerabilities when safeguarding LGBTQIA+ children.

Learning objectives

• To understand key terminology around identity and pronouns
• To gain insight into the challenges/ risk factors faced by LGBTQIA+ young people in Wakefield
• To gain insight into the sociohistorical context and impact of the media
• To understand and interpret current government guidance and best practice
• To reflect on scenarios and consider best ways to support young people
• To be able to signpost young people to appropriate support
