
The Department for Education’s (DfE) Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF), known locally in Wakefield as Happy Healthy Holidays, funds organisations to provide free nutritious meals and enriching activities during school holidays for children (Reception to Year 11) receiving income-based free school meals.
From Summer 2026, Happy Healthy Holidays funding will be distributed to the Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector through the Community Investment Gateway.
Happy Healthy Holidays aims to keep children and young people active during the school holidays by providing free activities and healthy food.

The Community Investment Gateway welcomes applications from VCSE organsations locally-rooted in Wakefield District.
