Producing outreach friendly comms - peer mentoring session

A practical small group mentoring session for anyone in the process of producing comms for a specific activity or event, to use as a tool to reach the people you would like to find and engage.

This session applies the learning from the GPM ‘Understanding and addressing barriers to engagement via comms’ webinar session, including:

  • Common ‘it’s not for me’ preconceptions and barriers to engaging harder to reach people.
  • Producing comms as a tool to address barriers and preconceptions and to find and engage the people you’d like to reach.
  • How an outreach friendly comms approach looks and feels different to traditional marketing approaches including use of language, images and information content.

To participate in this interactive peer mentoring session, you’ll be invited to bring along an example of your existing comms and/or to share an opportunity you would like to promote, in order to explore and adapt as a piece of outreach friendly comms. The session will be practical, supportive and informal – a space to share ideas with peers and workshop your own comms example to address 'it's not for me' preconceptions and barriers to engagement, including how to describe and 'pitch' your offer.
