Round 16 of Live Well Wakefield Small Grants is here to help you provide low level mental health support for working age adults (ages 26-50).

Live Well Wakefield is a social prescribing service that empowers people to access resources in their communities that enable them to feel happier and healthier. These grants support this service, funding VCSE organisations to:

  • Develop new community services which respond to gaps identified within communities.
  • Increase the sustainability of existing grassroots community services.
  • Scale up existing provision to meet demand.

For this round of funding, we’re focusing on provision around low level mental health support for working age adults (26-50 years of age).

What are we looking for?

  • Support/activities in the east of Wakefield District – information from Live Well Wakefield tells us that more support is needed in Castleford, Airedale, Pontefract, Knottingley and the South East, so this round of funding will prioritise applications from these areas.
  • Organisations to use a standardised wellbeing outcome tool – demonstrating how funded activities support and improve positive mental health and wellbeing. Examples of evidence based measures are PHQ-9 or Short Warwick Edinburgh Scale.
  • Provision that fits into a wider system of mental health support – with capacity to accept new referrals from Live Well Wakefield, develop referral pathways to make sure there is ongoing support for individuals supported through the funding, and work in partnership with the wider systems of mental health support.

Grants up to £10,000 are available per year - we will consider applications for two years of funding.

Are you eligible and what will we fund?

These grants are for VCSE organisations working in Wakefield District. We welcome applications from voluntary groups, community groups, sports clubs, leisure clubs, charities, community interest companies, limited companies, and social enterprises.

We encourage applications from new groups! Let us know if you need any support with the application process.

We will fund:

  • New services or activities
  • Existing services that will create additional capacity
  • Expansion of your service or activities into other areas of Wakefield District
  • Projects where you evidence a recognised need for the activity or service

How can you apply?

Applications close at 12pm on Monday 10 March. APPLY NOW

This fund will be distributed through Wakefield District’s Third Sector Framework, a partnership approach developed locally to distribute funding and other capacity building support to the VCSE sector. So to apply for this funding, you need to:
