Multi-Agency Neglect: A Shared Responsibility Training
The session will explore how we identify neglect, what to consider, cumulative harm, the neglected brain, tools to use and how best to respond to neglect through robust assessment information sharing.
This training encourages collaboration, professional curiosity, challenge and discussion.
*Please note: This is NOT Neglect Toolkit training.
Learning Objectives:
- Be able to identify and describe the signs of neglect
- Raise awareness of different tools including the Neglect Toolkit, the Continuum of Need and the Resilience Framework
- Reflect upon the impact of your own values and beliefs on the assessment of neglect
- Identify ways to intervene in cases of neglect and be able to evidence the impact of these
- How to report a concern within your own agency
- Be able to describe the impact of cumulative harm on children and young people
- Use a SMART approach to developing and reviewing child plans
- Know where to access further training, support and services
