Evaluating the impact of the sector: University-Led Healthcare Data & Evaluation Training
Building on our commitment as a Keep it Local Integrated Care Partnership and local delivery and commissioning experience, West Yorkshire Integrated Neighbourhood Health and Power of Communities are developing a common dataset and approach to evaluating VCSE sector impact. This aims to bring much needed simplicity and consistency to capturing and demonstrating with the long term aim of securing longer term and more sustainable investment in line with our nationally recognised partnership developed over the past years previously led by Kim Shutelr, Arfan Hussain, Jo Baker and Martin Pursey from the ICB.
This will enable the ICB to:
- better understand local context contributing to identifying underserved communities and unmet need through ‘live’ intelligence from VCSE organisations
- increase engagement of our sector in planning, strategy and pathway re-design
- ensure the VCSE sector is not as disadvantaged / increase parity across sectors
- build meaningful system-wide understanding of optimal, value-based resource use and outcomes
Led by Paul Carder - Head of Research, NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and with expertise from four West Yorkshire universities, this scheme recognises that data collection and evaluating impact is a challenge for all staff and services for a range of historic reasons.
