Taking over a local building or piece of land is a rewarding journey. It starts with two vital questions: Will it work (feasibility) and Who will support us (community engagement)?

This three-hour workshop uses Locality’s "Listen, Learn, Adapt" framework to move you from a 'good idea' to a 'solid plan'. We will explore the technical stages of Community Asset Transfer (CAT) - the process of moving buildings or land (like a shop, pub, library, or park) from local authorities or private businesses to be owned and managed by local people - while ensuring your project is inclusive and sustainable. After this deep dive into project feasibility and community engagement strategies, you will know how to answer: will community ownership work, and who will help you?
