A skilled and well-supported workforce is essential for better public health, and one of the key commitments in the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) 2022-2027 Strategic Plan is to identify the needs of the wider workforce, where they can build on their support for them and what policy calls they might make.
In this survey, RSPH will be defining the wider public health workforce as: “Any individual who is not a specialist or practitioner in public health, but has the opportunity or ability to positively impact health and wellbeing through their work.” This includes may people working in the VCSE sector!
This year, in the build-up to Public Health Workforce Week (2 - 6October), are engaging further with the wider public health workforce to gather insight into the challenges they face, and what RSPH can do to support them (for example, career pathways).
As a start to this work RSPH has launched a survey to gather insight from the wider public health workforce.
In your role you may support public health on a daily basis, or perhaps on a partial basis. If you are an organisation or would like to see more information about our wider public health workforce engagement work, please go to RSPH Wider Public Health Workforce Engagement
