Caretaker Role
Overview
The Caretaker ensures Yorkshire Dance’s building is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for all users. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Caretaker prepares studio and meeting spaces, provides basic maintenance support, and contributes to the smooth running of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Caretaker handles hands-on maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of the building, ensuring all systems are in good working order. They prepare spaces for daily use, assist with event setups, monitor cleaning supplies, and maintain communal areas. Front-of-house duties include welcoming visitors, managing inquiries, and maintaining reception areas. The Caretaker also supports studio hires, ensuring equipment is functional and studio rules are upheld, while fostering positive relationships with tenants and assisting with festival setups.
Yorkshire Dance staff are expected to adhere to organizational policies, promote its values, and engage in professional development. As a key holder, the Caretaker is responsible for opening and securing the building as required.
