Youth Support Worker

The Youth Association (TYA) is one of the oldest and most innovative youth work charities in the UK. Since 1904, the charity has been creating opportunities for young people to achieve their potential, raise their aspirations, and improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. TYA's mission is to grow Yorkshire's future by helping young people build confidence, identify and achieve their goals, access education, employment and enterprise opportunities, and develop meaningful social connections.

TYA is seeking enthusiastic and committed Youth Support Workers to support the delivery of youth work projects across South and West Yorkshire.

Working alongside Lead Youth Workers and Senior Youth Workers, the successful candidate will help deliver engaging youth work programmes in a range of settings, including community venues, educational institutions and detached youth work environments. The role involves supporting session planning, delivery and evaluation while building positive relationships with young people and promoting their participation, wellbeing and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of youth work sessions in community, educational and detached settings.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with young people and act as a positive role model.
  • Assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth work activities.
  • Encourage young people to develop confidence, skills and aspirations.
  • Promote youth participation and ensure young people's voices are heard.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Attend training, supervision and team meetings as required.
  • Undertake a JNC-recognised Youth Work qualification at Level 3 or above alongside the role.
