  • Reconnecting families and communities by tracing descendants and encouraging them to get involved in heritage activities.
  • Creating eye-catching displays and information boards to bring history to life.
  • Conserving and caring for heritage items, making sure they’re well looked after.
  • Supporting and delivering heritage events, exhibitions, and community activities.
  • Supervising and working alongside passionate volunteers.
  • Promoting the project through local partnerships, marketing, and community engagement.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Help deliver the Project Plan and make sure activities run smoothly.
  • Collect feedback and help evaluate how well the project is meeting its goals.
  • Support event planning, marketing, and community outreach.
  • Build strong working relationships with local organisations, groups, and individuals.
  • Keep resources organised, equipment well maintained, and everything running efficiently.

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Confident presenting and engaging with different audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in heritage research, education, or archives.
  • Good IT skills, especially for creating and managing archival records.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Castleford and District amateur rugby league history.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Additional Information

  • You’ll report to the Foundation Manager and work closely with the steering group and volunteers.
  • This role may involve occasional evening and weekend work, as well as activity during school holidays.
  • Appointment is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
  • Tigers Trust is committed to a safe and inclusive working environment and to promoting the heritage of their community with pride.

Why Join Tigers Trust

This is more than just a job - it’s a chance to make a real difference. You’ll be part of a welcoming team, helping to preserve and share the incredible rugby league heritage that has shaped Castleford for generations.
