WF Happy Healthy Holidays aims to keep children and young people active during the School Holidays by providing free enriching activities and healthy food for children in Reception class to year11 who receive benefits-related free school meals.
Over the course of 2025, the DfE is grant funding Wakefield Council to coordinate free holiday provision which will cover the Easter, Summer, and Christmas holidays.
Wakefield Council will fund, co-ordinate, and support local delivery by voluntary community organisations, schools and local authority teams. Wakefield Council will be looking to grant fund providers up to a maximum of £30,000 to cover the whole year to deliver enriching activities and healthy food to eligible children.
Due to timescales, applications for the whole year programme are welcomed and whilst the panel will endeavour to look at your full submission, in the first instance the focus will be on Easter to enable the circulation of grant letters for this period as quickly as possible. As such you may be contacted post Easter to confirm or clarify summer and winter delivery.
Applications must be submitted via SurveyMonkey at the following link: https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/Q22TSRX
Please find the application guidance document on this page alongside a budget form and an easy-read copy of the application questions. The deadline for applications is Monday 10 February 2025.
Please email HAFWakefield@wakefield.gov.ukif you have any issues with the application process.
