We need your support to help make sure the VCSE sector's voice is heard in the development of the NHS 10 year plan.

The NHS has been there for us for over 76 years. But to make sure it’s here for the next 76 years, doing all it can to support the health of everyone, the NHS need your help.

They've launched Change NHS to hear your views, experiences, and ideas which will shape a new 10 Year Health Plan for England. This will run until spring 2025.

The plan will set out how the NHS create a truly modern health service designed to meet the changing needs of our changing population. This will be focused on the three shifts that the Government, health service, and experts agree need to happen. This includes:

  • moving care from hospitals to communities
  • making better use of technology
  • focussing on preventing sickness, not just treating it

How To Get Involved

The way the NHS works has a big impact on Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations - from the projects we're funded to deliver to signposting our communities to the right support.

We'd encourage you to get involved in shaping the new 10 year plan. Here's how you can do that:

  • Complete the NHS 10 Year Plan Survey by 1 June - this survey will be used by the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership to help plan for services in West Yorkshire. Thoughts and feedback will be shared anonymously with the Government to help them with their 10 year plan. You can find the national survey on the Change NHS website.
  • Share the survey - encourage your team and the communities you support to have their say. You can find promotional resources on the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership website, along with information about requesting paper copies, easy-read versions or alternative formats/languages.
  • Send over existing insights - if your organisation has recently work related to the three shifts listed above (this might be a report, case studies, or questionnaire responses) please send it to wyicb.wycommsand.involvement@nhs.net
  • Deliver a workshop and share feedback by 14 February - the NHS have created a Workshop in a Box to help you engage with your communities and feed their insight into the development of the 10 Year Health Plan to make the NHS fit for the future. Find more information and resources on the Change NHS website.
