Information about
Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA) Toolkit Online Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together learnings from the OCSEA research project funded by the Vulnerability and Policing Futures Research Centre and the demonstration project led by MeSafe and West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership.
Through these two workstreams, possible best practice approaches to identifying and managing safeguarding concerns associated with OCSEA have emerged. The development of a Quality Standard Framework has highlighted mechanisms in which responses to OCSEA could improve at a professional, organizational and regional level.
To build upon this work, a next step is to consider how the Quality Standard Framework can be embedded into everyday safeguarding practices. Through various discussions with those involved in this work, the creation of an OCSEA Toolkit has been raised. Key elements of the envisaged Toolkit include:
- Establishment of a Technology Alliance network.
- Development of Technology Champion roles.
- OCSEA resource repository.
- Process of co-producing Public Awareness Campaigns.
- Co-creating responses with Children and Young People.
- Practitioner and organizational Self Reflection Tool.
To ensure the Toolkit is fit for purpose, consultations with a range of safeguarding professionals need to occur, providing space for materials linked to the Toolkit to be discussed and co-produced.
This 2-hour online workshop is open to all colleagues who may be interested in being involved in this project.
