Sport For Good: New Workshops for Sports Clubs and Organisations

Running a sports club isn’t easy, but you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Join other local organisations learning how to adapt and finding practical advice at these free workshops.

Sport for Good is a new programme for people who run sports clubs and organisations in West Yorkshire to increase the resilience, engagement, sustainability and diversity of your organisation. Tackling the challenges that so many clubs are facing and supporting you to thrive!

What’s on?

Free workshops will be held online and in-person, covering:

  • Inclusive Marketing - coming in June
  • Engaging Communities and Local Partnerships - coming in June
  • Revenue Diversification - coming in June
  • Membership Development - coming in June

Workshops will run from March until July. Spaces are limited so register now!

Who’s it for?

These workshops are for anyone involved in running or managing a locally based sports club or community organisation that is:

  • Involved in delivering any type of community sport / physical activity (can be affiliated or not affiliated to a National Governing Body)
  • Supporting your local community as an un/constituted group, charity, social enterprise or community benefit society
  • Generating an income of up to £500k

Book onto as many workshops as you’d find useful. Many of the topics will connect and help you to build a stronger club.

This project is funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority as part of the £2.3m You Can Make It Here programme providing business support and skills training for the creative industries, culture, heritage and sport sector.

Sport For Good is delivered by the five Local Infrastructure Organisations in West Yorkshire – Third Sector Leaders Kirklees, Nova Wakefield District, Community Action Bradford & District, Voluntary Action Leeds, Voluntary & Community - and specialist partner Participate Projects. Bringing you our collective expertise with voluntary and community organisations of all sizes and knowledge of communities across West Yorkshire.
