Funding Information

The Cruach Trust is a small Scottish charity, which likes to make a difference with its donations. The Trust provides financial support for the natural environment including gardens, and for community and music-related organisations throughout the United Kingdom. The trustees have discretion to make donations in the UK and abroad although the vast majority are to Scottish organisations, with all types of charitable objects.

Who can apply

Registered or recognised charities, societies, trusts or other bodies.

The Cruach Trust will only consider applications from Scottish organisations with an income of less than £100,000.

Please note the Trustees will only award grants up to a maximum of £2000.

Examples of grants

  • Supporting a horticultural apprenticeship, arranged through the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
  • Grants for gardens, wildlife and the natural environment.
  • Grants for organisations working with children, young carers, the elderly, vulnerable and homeless.
  • Grants for music, the arts and cultural charities.
  • Grants for medical research and support.

The Trustees meet annually in September to assess applications. No deadline is specified but applicants are advised to submit in good time for consideration.
