
Lead the next chapter of a long-established local charity
Wakefield and District Society for Deaf People (WDSDP) is a long-established local charity supporting deaf, deafblind, deafened and hard of hearing people across Wakefield and District.
They are looking for an experienced and motivated Service Lead to provide operational leadership and help shape the next stage of their development.
This is a broad leadership role covering operations, people, finance, service development, business development, partnerships and governance.
Working with the Board of Trustees and staff team, you will:
• Lead day-to-day operations and support staff development.
• Oversee budgets, financial reporting and organisational resources.
• Develop services, partnerships and new income opportunities.
• Work with commissioners, funders and other strategic partners.
• Support effective governance, compliance, risk management and quality improvement.
• Help turn the 2026–2030 Strategic Roadmap into practical action.
About you
They are looking for someone who combines strong operational leadership, strategic thinking and a practical, hands-on approach.
You will have experience of managing people and resources, developing services or income opportunities, working with partners and stakeholders, and contributing to organisational development.
Experience of working with deaf, deafblind, deafened or hard of hearing people would be particularly valuable.
