Nova Treasurer

We’re looking for a dedicated Treasurer to provide vital financial leadership to our charity, supporting the VCSE sector in the Wakefield District through high-impact contracts and grant-making.

Nova works alongside charities, community groups, and social enterprises to help them thrive and continue their essential work across the district. We do this by:

• Providing free specialist support on development and growth
• Ensuring the VCSE sector has a strong voice in decision-making
• Securing resources and funding for the local sector

As we expand our Board of Trustees, finding the right Treasurer is a key priority.

What you’ll do

Working closely with the Board, CEO, Finance Manager, and accountant, you will ensure our organisation’s finances are well-managed, transparent, and aligned with our strategic goals. This involves:

• Guiding key financial decisions
• Helping the Board understand and act on financial information
• Contributing to future planning, including budgets, reserves, and exploring new income streams and enterprising approaches to strengthen Nova’s financial resilience

What we’re looking for

While previous experience as a Treasurer or Trustee is welcomed, it isn't essential. What matters most is a commitment to Nova’s values, financial integrity, and a passion for supporting the local VCSE sector.
