The Community Investment Gateway has a new funding opportunity.
Live Well Wakefield is a social prescribing service that empowers people to access activities and services in their community that can help them feel happier and healthier. The Small Grants Fund supports this work by regularly funding VCSE organisations to create additional capacity inexisting services and respond to gaps in provision that social prescribers have identified.
For this round of funding, grants are available to fund nature-based projects that can help improve mental and physical health. The team at Live Well Wakefield are seeing local demand for this and will be supporting people to engage with activities through ‘green social prescribing’.
These grants are for Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations working in Wakefield District to deliver outdoor activities for adults in green and/or blue spaces.
The Community Investment Gateway are looking for projects that cover areas where there is increased need, either by delivering in the area or doing outreach in the area. Based on intelligence from Live Well Wakefield and public health, these are: Wrenthorpe, Outwood, Stanley, Crofton, Havercroft and Ryhill. This will be used when shortlisting applications but is not a requirement.
The Community Investment Gateway welcomes applications from voluntary groups, community groups, sports clubs, leisure clubs, charities, community interest companies, limited companies, and social enterprises.
The funding is for members of the Community Investment Gateway (any tier). If your organisation is not a member, get in touch with gateway@nova-wd.org.uk to find out how to join.
