Crisis and Resilience Fund: Community Coordination Grants

The Community Investment Gateway, a partnership that Nova is proud to be involved in, has a new funding opportunity available.

The Community Coordination Grants are one strand of the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) from the Department for Work and Pensions. It’s investing in local financial resilience so that people and communities are in a better position to deal with crises in the long-term and there are strong local support systems in place.

The Gateway is inviting applications from voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations to carry out this work in Wakefield District. There are grants available for 15 organisations, which the Community Investment Gateway are distributing for Wakefield Council.

What is being funded?

Community Coordination is about helping residents to connect with crisis and resilience services and activity, filling gaps and making sure support reaches those who need it most. This means bringing people, groups and services together so that residents are better supported during a financial crisis and stronger in the longer term.

The grants aim to support this by funding staffing costs – for new or existing staff. This will increase capacity within the organisation to provide:

• Community coordination role: act as door to local crisis and resilience services, building awareness of their offers and providing a space for the co-location of services so residents can access coordinated, accessible support to address multiple needs.
• Partnership and referral pathways: build relationships with council teams and other partners to ensure clear, consistent referral pathways for residents.
• Outreach and engagement: support outreach activities and provide private spaces for partner engagement with residents.
• Information sharing and networking: share intelligence on emerging pressures and attend network events to support joint problem solving and a collective understanding of the district-wide welfare landscape.

​There is an additional £1,000 available to support the delivery of Welcome/Warm Space provision during winter months.

Initially funding is for delivery between September 2026 until March 2027, with potential to deliver up to 31 March 2029.
