Information about
Creating Your Volunteering Strategy
Did you know we run a network for people who manage or coordinate volunteers? It's a friending space to speak to peers and share best practice.
Here are the details of our next network meeting to give you an idea of what to expect - this one is a workshop, but we also have discussions and networking.
What's planned for September
We have an interactive session planned exploring how organisations can strengthen their approach to volunteering by developing an effective volunteering strategy.
This session will involve networking and a Volunteering Strategy Café, bringing together perspectives from across district and insights from:
- Becky Bracey from TSL Kirklees - on VCSE sector trends in volunteering
- Paula Wells from Wakefield College - on engaging young people
- Sarah Bartlett from Camphill Wakefield - on including people with special educational needs and disabilities
- Maria and Greta from Citizen Coin - on local systems available
Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences, hear from guests and explore what makes volunteering accessible, meaningful and rewarding. The session will finish with dedicated time for attendees to work on their own volunteering strategy, using the ideas and insights gathered.
To join: the network meets quarterly, and you're welcome to join even if you can't make this session in September. Email Elsie, our Membership and Networks Coordinator, with the subject line 'Join VMN and strategy workshop on 9 Sept' at elsie.heslam@nova-wd.org.uk
