
For too long arts and cultural organisations haven’t had the backing they need to thrive. This investment is turning that tide, fixing the foundations of beloved local venues up and down the country by giving them the cash injection they need to upgrade and grow.
The Creative Foundations Fund is an open-access capital fund that supports creative and cultural organisations in England in revitalising, restoring, retrofitting, or renewing cultural assets, including urgent work which prevents organisations from effectively delivering work for the public.
Organisations must demonstrate that the investment in buildings and equipment is business-critical to delivering creative or cultural activity, minimising the risk of asset failure and increasing the economic sustainability of the creative and cultural sectors.
The fund is split into two strands with separate Guidance for Applicants for each strand:

Strand 1 opens 13 July 2026 - 7 August 2026 (12:00)
One-year flexible funding for projects that improve nature for local communities.
Unrestricted grants of up to £45,000 (over 1–3 years) plus strategic pro bono business support to help small charities, CIOs, CICs and CBSs grow or strengthen.
Grants for VCSE organisations to run community-led projects for: men aged 35–59 who are unemployed, economically inactive or facing economic precarity; and older men (60+) experiencing key life transition.
