We're pleased to welcome applications for this exciting project, which will address access to science-backed information, enable peer support, and ensure vital district-wide menopause help for local women.

Menopause will affect or has already affected 178,724 women in our district during their lifetime, but Wakefield has no widespread, regular access to Menopause specific information for residents.

We're inviting applications for the brand new Menopause & Me project, a partnership between Nova Wakefield District and MenoHealth, a national and international menopause organisation. The project has been funded for its first year by SWYT Community Mental Health and funding is being distributed through the Third Sector Framework.

This exciting project will address access to science-backed information, enable peer support, and ensure vital district-wide menopause help for local women. It recognises the importance of using organisations already embedded in their communities to deliver information and support to residents, and offers 10 local VCSE organisations the opportunity to upskill a member of staff with MenoHealth to deliver science-backed Menopause support sessions to local women.

Successful organisations will also form a Menopause network co-ordinated by Nova across the whole district. This will provide a space to share best practice, find peer support and express ideas. Mentoring support from MenoHealth will be available through the network.

Applications for funding must be submitted no later than 5pm on Monday 1 May 2023.
