Humanity 1st is a community interest organisation that works with people to develop their skills and opportunities to find work. Humanity 1st was set up by people who are passionate about making long-term improvements in people’s lives within the deprived area of Wakefield district, with particular emphasis on supporting, engaging, and working with people from different background groups. Our visions are partnership working, in which we are already working with 10 different partners across Wakefield District.

Humanity 1st have been a Nova member since October 2021!

What project are you working on that you’re most proud of?

Community Mental Health Provision, Emotional & Mental Wellbeing project, The National Lottery Community Fund, and the European Social Funding project. All the projects mentioned help us to be able to put our participants into jobs and support them in their health and wellbeing.

Fun fact about your organisation

Humanity 1st was established in July 2021 and has already supported 75 people and been involved with 9 community centres!

How can local organisations and the public support you?

Local organisations can support us by working together to achieve our targeted goals. We love to be informed when funding is available so that we can continue to support people in our community to have a belonging.
