Hundreds of organisations joined NCVO's lobbying efforts, sharing stories of how escalating energy bills were impacting their organisations. It’s because of these stories and NCVO's continued dialogue with government that charities have been included in the new scheme. 

NCVO are working hard to analyse what the new scheme means for the sector but they are immediately concerned about the significant reduction in financial support and the impact it will have on already struggling organisations. The current Energy Bill Relief Scheme had a package of £18.4 billion across six months and the new support scheme is capped at £5.4 billion across 12 months.
