Funding Information

Active Through Football Project and Wakefield Council have created a fund called 'Active Communities Fund', and the first funding window is now open for applications.

The aim is to fund ideas that help people get out and about more and be active where they live. Grants of up to £1,000 are available.

We're open to fresh ideas! What's important is that your idea supports the South East communities to become places where being active is attractive and accessible.

Who is the fund for?

The fund is open to:

  • not-for profit voluntary or community organisations
  • registered charities
  • not-for profit company, community interest company or social enterprise
  • individuals or informal groups

It is available to residents, groups, and organisations in the following areas:

  • Hemsworth
  • South Kirkby
  • Upton
  • Ryhill
  • Kinsley
  • Fitzwilliam
  • Havercroft
  • South Elmsall

What is it for?

The funding can support communities to:

  • reduce social isolation
  • improve mental and physical wellbeing
  • improve the use of green space
  • raise aspirations for Families, young people and adults
  • support people to learn and develop their interests
  • improve the local economy
