The event is part of the national Volunteers' Week celebration campaign - which runs from Thursday 1 June to Wednesday 7 June - and will showcase and celebrate volunteer’s contribution and dedication to the local communities across Wakefield District.

Gathering staff and volunteers, fourteen local organisations will take centre stage at J32 under the main canopy at M&S from 11 in the morning, for an inspiring, fun-filled celebration, with games, prizes and refreshments.

The event will be a much-needed opportunity to thank Wakefield District volunteers who donate 863,574 hours contributing an incredible £11,735,970 to the economy. Every volunteer attending will receive a small token of appreciation, with prizes for each organisation.

The celebration will also showcase the range of volunteering opportunities available in our district and engage local shoppers in conversations about how they can give back to the places they live and contribute to causes they care about.
