It was brilliant to see so many of you at our first in-person AGM since 2019! Here are some highlights from the event.

1. AGM business sorted!

Our Interim Chair, Chris Bann, led us through the AGM business and...

  • The minutes of the last AGM were accepted
  • Mark Upex from Hansons presented the Annual Report and Accounts (21-22), which were accepted
  • Slade & Cooper were appointed as Auditors
  • Six Directors were appointed - Mohammed Ayub, Hayley Grocock, Pete Taylor, Sam Davis, Jan Archbold and Lucy Ndlovu

2. Inspiration time with Krish Patel

What a way to start our Enterprise & Funding Event! Krish Patel from Tales to Inspire gave a brilliant talk about his journey and social enterprise, and his one piece of advice for everyone was that 'progress isn't linear'.

3. Getting you involved with VCSE Voices

We introduced you to our new project, VCSE Voices, an initiative to recruit VCSE Advocates from our sector to attend district-wide decision-making boards to influence policy and create positive change.

There were some brilliant questions from the audience and we'd love for you to keep getting involved:

4. An update on the Third Sector Framework

Scott Copeland, our Contracts & Grants Manager, talked us through the Third Sector Framework and some important next steps:

  • Develop opportunities exclusively for TSF members including partnership events, training and other development opportunities
  • Further analyse funding available for all members and co-design solutions to identified needs
  • Increase awareness of the TSF and in turn increase confidence in member organisations

We hope you came away inspired and excited about the projects Nova’s got coming up - we definitely did - and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Get in touch at info@nova-wd.org.uk or call 01924 367418 if you'd like to discuss the projects mentioned or get support for your organisation.
