West Yorkshire Older People’s Mental Health Steering Group: Seeking a VCSE Representation

Are you a voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) organisation focusing on older people’s mental health?

The Mental Health, Learning Disability & Autism Programme (MHLDA) Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH)Steering Group is seeking a VCSE representative to be part of its group as well as the West Yorkshire VCSE Mental Health Group. This is an exciting opportunity to:

  • Be part of a group that has oversight of the West Yorkshire Older People’s Mental Health Workstream
  • Advocate for the VCSE sector relating to older people’s mental health
  • Provide a VCSE older people’s mental health perspective in the WY VCSE Mental Health Group and strengthen its links with the WY OPMH Steering Group.

Are you a voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) organisation focusing on neurodiversity?

West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership want everyone to be part of their collective movement to make neurodiversity everyone’s business and recognise the huge role the VCSE sector plays in tackling the inequalities faced by and empowering neurodivergent people.

As a result, the Mental Health, Learning Disability & Autism Programme (MHLDA) Neurodiversity Workstream is seeking ten VCSE representatives to be members of its newly formed West Yorkshire VCSE Neurodiversity Working Group (two from each of the five Places; Bradford District & Craven, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield).

In joining you will be able to:

  • Strengthen and embed the role of the VCSE sector within the Neurodiversity Workstream across West Yorkshire
  • Identify and explore opportunities for the VCSE sector
  • Be part of developing the growing WY VCSE Neurodiversity Network as an open space to engage with wider VCSE organisations working with neurodivergent people and their families

WY HCP would like the membership of the group to be representative of the diversity of the VCSE sector and would welcome expressions of interests from VCSE organisations of all sizes and who work with communities of interests at greatest risk of health inequalities.
