Helping someone at risk of becoming homeless

If you or someone you know is at risk of becoming homeless within 56 days, you can contact the Housing Needs Service for help.

They offer a free, confidential advice and information service that may help the person to keep their home or help them find accommodation that meets their needs. The Housing Needs Service will help the person to understand the different options that are available in the Wakefield District to solve their housing problems. 

The service has recently changed their reception opening times. Access support by: 

•   Visiting Queens House Reception,WF1 1JR. Open Monday to Friday from 10am - 2pm  
•   Calling 01924 304 360 / 304 362  
•   Emailing housingneedsservice@wakefield.gov.uk  

Whilst an Out of Hours Service is in operation this is for homeless emergencies that arise out of hours only. Emergency calls can be made to the contact centre on 0345 8 506506.
