These are exciting times for Healthwatch Wakefield, and they would love more people to be involved.

As a member you will be part of their mission to improve health and care services.

Membership is open to people aged 16 years and over, who live, work, or receive health and care services in Wakefield District, or have some other significant connection locally.

Members have legal powers in the charity and hold the organisation to account, but more importantly are part of Healthwatch Wakefield's collective voice.

From Airedale to South Kirkby, Overton to Knottingley, and everywhere in between, Healthwatch Wakefield make sure NHS and social care leaders hear local voices and use this feedback to improve care. They work closely with commissioners and providers, acting as a critical friend by sharing peoples experiences and suggestions for improvements.

Healthwatch Wakefield are lucky to have amazing volunteers who contribute to their main programme of work, as well as in panels and partnerships that look more closely at specific issues like mental health, adult social care, and maternity care. But they also want people to be members of the organisation.

We'd encourage all Nova members to find out more, see what you'd get out of it and apply. Please also share with anyone you think might be interested!

The next closing date for applications is Sunday 15 September.
