The Energy Debt Fund scheme provides grants to help vulnerable and low-income households with problem energy debt.

Wakefield Council has been running this scheme for the last three years and supported over 330 households with their energy bills.

Do you work with any households that need support? Please help them to access this scheme.

Applicants will be invited to discuss their needs with our Money Smart Team and if successful, a grant is paid directly to energy suppliers. Only one Energy Debt Fund grant is available per household.

Limited funding is available, and it is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. The Household Support Funding for this scheme will be available until the end of September 2024 only.

Applications to apply for the Energy Debt Fund are now open. Contact the Money Smart Team for an assessment via this online referral form: Money Smart Referral Form - Wakefield Council

If urgent, you can email the team at moneysmart@wakefield.gov.uk or telephone 01924 305892 for immediate support.
